The Offshore Passage Communication Device
The Iridium GO! is the most-carried satellite communication device on bluewater passages where crew uses smartphones rather than a dedicated satellite phone. Every crew member's iPhone or Android becomes a satellite phone within the 100 ft hotspot radius — for weather routing, family check-ins, position reporting, and distress signaling. The built-in SOS button connects to GEOS, Iridium's 24/7 emergency response coordination center, transmitting your GPS position immediately.
How It Works at Sea
Set the Iridium GO! on deck or at the companionway with open sky view, power it on, and connect crew phones to its Wi-Fi network. Use the free Iridium GO! app, or third-party apps like PredictWind Offshore, Iridium Mail & Web, or Garmin Earthmate for text-based weather and email. Works anywhere in the ocean — open water, remote anchorages, high-latitude polar routes — as long as there's an unobstructed view of the sky.
Airtime Plans
Hardware is sold separately from airtime. Iridium partners offer monthly subscription plans and prepaid options for occasional offshore use. Contact us for current plan pricing and activation help.
